Despite having been present in the US market for a number of years, the company says that its hopes to extend its presence beyond Swiss cheese to include more American-style products as well.
In acquiring Roth Käse, in which the company had already held a minority stake, Emmi says it will continue to focus on expansion in a number of key global markets including the US, Germany and Italy.
The group did not disclose how much it would pay to complete the purchase.
