New Zealand-based cooperative Fonterra says it has acquired the license to manufacture and sell the SKI brand of its yoghurts on the Australian market, ahead of its original schedule.

The month follows on from Fonterra’s announcement last September that it had acquired Nestle’s yoghurt and dairy dessert business in the country.

According to the group, it was due to take up the license for selling and producing SKI in January 2012, though the license has now become effective immediately following the sale of Dairy Farmers to National Foods.
