Leaders in the quest to make the dairy industry greener discuss an ambitious new plan to reduce greenhouse gases by 25 per cent, and how the industry members should collaborate to innovate.

Erin Fitzgerald introduces a new initiative to reduce greenhouse gases by 25 per cent by 2020. Twelve projects to take industry halfway to that goal will also generate about $0.25bn for the industry.

The ‘cow of the future’ will continue the progress made in reducing methane emissions by 63 per cent since 1960, mostly through nutritional adjustments.

Clay Detlefsen underscores the importance of industry cooperation – as well as innovative thinking within companies.
