The diverse product portfolio will complement our group strategy and intention to offer printed cartons, labels, flexible and filmic products to the FMCG and healthcare industries,” he said.

Dairy, beverage, food sector

Systems Labeling Limited, which has sites in Deeside, Runcorn and Essex, employs 140 staff and supplies labels to the dairy, beverage, food, household and cosmetic sector.

The acquisition will complement the existing flexible packaging and carton businesses under the Americk banner increasing its range of products.

Gwyn Bouch, managing director, Systems Labeling, said it had already started sharing the news about the announcement with its customers.

This is a tremendous opportunity for our business, staff and customers,” he said.

Recycled HDPE plastic

Systems Labeling recently authored a WRAP (an organization which helps businesses and individuals to reduce waste) funded rHDPE (recycled high density polyethylene) project to increase the recyclability of HDPE liquid milk bottles.

Headed up by Stephen Lloyd, director, marketing and business development, Systems Labeling, the report tackles the amount of recycled HDPE plastic (rHDPE) that can be used to make plastic milk bottles because the recycled material has a green hue to it.

Its research and development project investigated the causes and developed ways to reduce the green hue in rHDPE for recycling purposes.

Lloyd confirmed the acquisition brings the Americk Packaging Group turnover to circa £100m and 'we expect to double this turnover in the next three years with acquisitions mainly focused in Europe'.
