For the second year running, Dutch dairy company FrieslandCampina has picked up the 'Best Use of CSR Practices' award at CMO Asia's 6th Best CSR Practices Awards 2016 in Singapore.

The award recognizes corporate sustainability and responsibility programs that have made a positive impact on the lives of the communities in which companies operate.

FrieslandCampina said that it works with multiple stakeholders from governments to businesses and civil society through public-private partnerships and stakeholder engagement activities in all of its initiatives with the aim of addressing food and nutrition security challenges in Asia.

The company has a "Nourishing by Nature" goal, which is to provide better nutrition for the world, and better livelihoods for farmers now and in the future.

Dairy Development Programme

FrieslandCampina said that it works with 45,000 farmers across the region, local governments, employees and non-governmental organizations to raise the productivity, quantity and quality of milk produced by smallholder farms through its Dairy Development Programme.

Piet Hilarides, chief operating officer consumer products Asia, FrieslandCampina, said, "Working together with our partners is integral to our CSR strategy and the way we do business.”

He said that the policies and procedures not only enable the company to achieve food and nutrition security for the region, but also ensure that its license to operate in the countries in which it works in is maintained long into the future.
