Moloney has officially stood down as group md, after announcing his intention to do so in May

Dairy firm Glanbia’s group md John Moloney has left his role, although he will continue on the board of the group’s 40% associate company Glanbia Ingredients Ireland.

Moloney, who announced his decision to stand down in May, will be succeeded by Siobhan Talbot with immediate effect.

Talbot, who has served as group md designate since June, was previously group financial director and has served on the board since 2009.

‘Outstanding contribution’

Glanbia’s chairman Liam Herlihy praised Moloney for his “outstanding contribution” to the business.

“We are at the beginning of an exciting next phase of development and the board is confident that we have the leadership and skills we need to achieve sustainable growth across all our business segments, here in Ireland and globally,” he added.

Mark Garvey will replace Talbot as group financial director.

Garvey joins from global food and beverage company Sara Lee, where he was executive vice president and chief financial officer until 2012.

He joined Sara Lee in 1995 and held a number of senior financial roles within the company.

Herlihy said Garvey would bring an “excellent range of skills” into the management team.
