Nestlé has unveiled the CHF 12.9m ($13.3m, €10.4m) expansion of its Carnation brand evaporated milk manufacturing facility in the Dominican Republic.
Through the investment, Nestlé's San Francisco de Macorís processing facility has benefitted from the installation of new manufacturing equipment.
According Nestlé, the expansion should boost the manufacture of Carnation Milk at the plant, which has been supplying the Dominican Republic with evaporated milk product since 1971.
Commenting, head of Nestlé in the Dominican Republic, Claude Mamboury, said that the company’s investment in the San Francisco de Macorís site demonstrates its confidence in the country.
“With this expansion, Nestlé is reaffirming its confidence in the country, and its commitment to national milk production,” said Mamboury.
“We are strengthening our roots in San Francisco de Macorís. We are here to stay. Nestlé is a company that has always had a long-term perspective,” he added.
