The company said it had used consumer insight to recognise a market gap for a "family orientated range of cheese with a real presence on shelf and a strongly communicated brand position"
On sale from October 10 across all Tesco stores, the range is designed to appeal to families and busy mothers by virtue of its "family friendly name and fun design" which Adams Foods hopes will help it stand out in a crowded category.
The Mu range (which has a RRP of £2.49) comprises mild, medium, mature, grated, sliced and lighter mature variants, and is made using ingredients only sourced from the UK and Ireland.
