Leading Dutch dairy processor FrieslandCampina has launched a sustainable dairy farming programme from the beginning of the year after formal approval from its member dairy farmers.
The scheme aims to support and encourage dairy farmers to make their business operations more sustainable, in line with both technical and economic improvements.
In addition, FrieslandCampina said it would lift its outdoor grazing premium to €0.50 per 100kg of milk (currently it is €0.05) with effect from 2012.
