The acquisition of the Yogho! Yogho! and Choco! Choco! brands from RoyalFrieslandCampina by Belgian Dairy Cooperative, Inza Cvba, has been approved by the European Commission.
The acquisition concerns the brands in the European Union, including product recipes and associated commercial operations.
Inza will supply FrieslandCampina with a license to use the Yogho! Yogho! brand within the EU (excluding Benelux) and FrieslandCampina will continue to own both brands outside the EU.
The sale of the Yogho! Yogho! and Choco! Choco! brands was a condition of the EC’s approval of the merger between Friesland Foods and Campina in 2008 in order to prevent FrieslandCampina dominating the Dutch and Belgian market.
