Beverage Treatment Technologies 2014: Call for Speakers!

Following our successful online event devoted to Aseptic Technology in the beverage sphere last year, we're turning our attention to Beverage Treatment Technologies in 2014 and are keen to recruit speakers.

Beverage brands and fillers are always seeking process technology that cuts costs, shortens treatment times and preservative use, extends shelf life and improves drink quality for consumers. We're particularly keen to recruit significant brands to talk about the benefits of important technologies including aseptic and ESL or HPP within the framework of an online roundtable discussion.

The event audience - in terms of format the event parallels March 2013's first ever online event devoted to Aseptic Technology - will include retailers, brands, manufacturers, suppliers and fillers. Please email BeverageDaily.com editor ben.bouckley@wrbm.com for more information or to discuss taking part.

Beverage Treatment Technologies 2014

Beverage Treatment Technologies 2014 explores process technology from (thermal methods) aseptic, ESL and hot filling to (non-thermal) HPP, highlighting the pros and cons each on a cost/benefit basis – including the demands of line cleaning and sterilization, treatment of packaging, energy use, line speed and staff training.

Such technology choices also have an vital impact upon packaging options – for instance, hot fill bottles are classically thicker, more expensive and commonly thought to be less attractive – with the right choice crucial given consumer demand for product quality, convenience and shelf standout.

Editorial webinars hosted by independent experts will assess the performance and prospects for each technology against the backdrop of current ‘hot’ or high-performing global beverage categories – with a particular focus on milks and dairy drinks – as machine evolution ultimately tracks consumer trends.

Must-read message in a bottle

Examples of hot categories include RTD teas, functional waters, added-value beverages with fruit pieces, ‘purer’ fruit and vegetable juices and energy drinks, while traditional CSDs continue to grow globally despite declines in developed markets. Added-value dairy drinks are also carving out a lucrative beverage niche.

Who are the key players in each field and what are the latest machine developments? How scalable are the different systems and how can they benefit your business or brand in a crowded marketplace? Furthermore, what is the cost of such systems (CAPEX, OPEX) and thus the average payback time?

Beverage Treatment Technologies 2014 will explore these complex issues to provide you with the answers you need – that must-read message in a bottle – whether you’re a filler planning to invest in a new line or a processing and packaging supplier keeping step with market trends.
