Coesia Group has signed a deal to buy Oystar North America (NA), from Oystar Group for an undisclosed amount.

Oystar NA operates in packaging machinery, through Jones (pouch filling and cartoning), KartridgPak (Chub Packaging), Autoprod and Holmatic (Cup filling and sealing), Aerofill (Aerosol machinery), Dawson (bottle filling) and MAP Systems (patented solutions for improving product shelf life).

The firm has revenues of more than $200m (€160m) two US based sites in Davenport, Iowa and Covington, Kentucky, more than 550 employees and 70 patents worldwide.

Barry Shoulders will lead the newly acquired company, which is one of the largest suppliers of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging machinery and services in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Angelos Papadimitriou, chief executive officer of Coesia Group, said: “We intend to continue to support Oystar NA’s investment in innovation and help accelerate its international presence and its expansion in new segments.” ​
