GEA has drafted in Chr. Hansen executive Christian Rolf Jacobsen to head up its new Powder Systems Europe business unit.
Powder Systems Europe will bring together GEA’s existing New Zealand-based businesses, GEA Avapac and GEA Nu-Con. Both boast sales in Europe, but until now have serviced their customers from New Zealand.
Commenting, newly recruited Jacobsen said Powder Systems Europe will enable Avapac and Nu-Con to better serve their increasing customer base in Europe for powder filling systems and powder handling systems.
“The brands have been very successful in Europe and the new products are really making their presence felt," said Rolf.
Jacobsen, previously international director of key accounts at Chr. Hansen, spoke excitedly of his appointment and the powder filling opportunities that lie in Europe for the business.“The new business unit brings us much closer to come of the major players in the market and will allow us to focus increasingly on sales, customer support and aftermarket service. It’s a major leap forward for us and I am very excited to be involved right from the start.”
“It’s a high-quality company with a strong image and an exciting growth agenda. I am very much looking forward to working with the teams in New Zealand, Asia and Europe," he said.
"Our aim is to extend the coverage and servicing of large customers within the dairy and food segments.”
