Tetra Pak to expand US plant

The company already has a 142,000 square foot plant in Fruit Valley.

Charles Posey, supply chain cluster leader, Americas, Tetra Pak, told FoodProductionDaily it has applied for council permission to build the two buildings.

“With this expansion, we are adding additional printing capacity to continue serving our customers’ growing business needs,” ​he said.

In Vancouver, the company's factory specializes in gable-top packages of all sizes for milk, juice, and other liquid and food products.

Examining Tetra Pak's proposed expansion, the city of Vancouver decided the project won't have a significant negative impact on the environment under the state's Environmental Policy Act.

As part of the application, Tetra Pak claims its dust and air emissions won’t increase from current levels with construction of the two buildings and it will meet or exceed the city's water quality and quantity standards.
