Fonterra has joined forces with the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) for another year to raise awareness about bone health across Asia and the Middle East.
Through the partnership, which is in its seventh year, Fonterra and the IOF will educate people across the regions about the importance of bone health from an early age to help prevent osteoporosis. They also drive awareness about the lifestyle and diet choices people make to maintain strong and healthy bones.
“Osteoporosis is often referred to as the ‘silent disease’ – most people don’t know they’ve got it until they feel the first fracture and by this stage it is too late,” said Fonterra innovation manager, Joanne Todd.
“Raising awareness about bone health and the simple lifestyle and diet changes people can make to help maintain strong and healthy bones is one of the primary ways we can help tackle the prevalence of bone related diseases in the region,” Todd added.
