Pro Mach acquisition drives move into liquid filler market

Pro Mach buys Federal Manufacturing and targets synergies
Pro Mach has acquired Federal Manufacturing for an undisclosed amount to enter the liquid filler market.

Federal, provider of rotary liquid filling packaging machinery, will be integrated into the Primary Packaging Business Unit, which provides primary and secondary packaging machinery.

The Wisconsin-based firm designs and manufactures liquid filling and capping machinery for dairy, food, chemical and coatings companies worldwide and develops solutions for dairy producers and manufacturers of extended shelf life products.

Expanded portfolio

Pro Mach said the acquisition would expand its Primary Packaging product portfolio and create opportunities through Federal’s experience in the extended shelf life beverage and dairy markets.

Mark Anderson, Pro Mach president and CEO, said: “We will continue to invest in Federal to grow their business and further develop their product and service capabilities.

“We have an outstanding opportunity to create synergies with our Fowler Products capping business and other Pro Mach brands.

“With the addition of Federal solutions to our extensive portfolio, we continue to strengthen our position as a world leader in packaging machinery, integrated solutions, and customer service.”

Synergy chance

Don Cotney, Pro Mach’s vice-president and general manager for Fowler Products, said: “We are enthusiastic about the benefits our combined product portfolio provides both Fowler and Federal customers, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with their team on new solutions and services.”

Federal vice president of sales Otis Cobb said: “Together we are a single source for a wide range of high quality, complementary solutions, and integrated products across the entire packaging line.”
