Tetra Pak will have delivered 200bn packages labeled with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) logo by the end of April 2016.

Since 2007, the number of Tetra Pak cartons bearing the FSC logo has increased steadily each year to reach 54bn in 2015. The company expects that trend to accelerate as awareness among consumers grows ever higher.

With increasing consumer interest in environmental issues, companies are expected to communicate their impact on the environment and the actions they are taking in a transparent way. The FSC logo enables consumers to choose brands that are committed to sustainable forestry.

Founded in 1994 by a group of non-government organizations, timber users and traders, FSC is widely recognized as the highest global certification standard for forest management.

For a product to carry the FSC label there must be an unbroken Chain of Custody certification for all relevant sites. Tetra Pak has completed the certification for all converting plants and market companies and can supply FSC-labelled packages from anywhere in the world.

Tetra Pak says that its long-term ambition is to deliver all packages with the FSC label.
