Dairy Crest UK has announced a 0.5p/litre milk price increase for its suppliers from 1 October 2010.

This increase follows a 0.75p/litre increase for suppliers to its Davidstow creamery in July.

The liquid milk price remains unchanged for October, following the August increase of 0.42p/litre.

Announcing the news to the Davidstow pool, Milk Procurement Director Mark Taylor said “I am pleased that we are now in a position to deliver a further milk price increase.”

“Dairy Crest’s suppliers have benefited from price stability over the past year and we know this is a real benefit to a farm business. Our aim is to deliver a sustained movement in price to continue to provide our suppliers with greater security,” Taylor commented.
