US-based processor Dean Foods is expected to purchase the Santee Dairies milk processing operations from retail group Stater Bros., according to press reports.
No job loses are expected to be incurred as part of the deal for the group, which has annual sales of $101m (€78.2m) and 300 employees, reports the Los Angeles Times.
The potential cost for the deal was not revealed, though Jack Brown. Stater Bros. chief executive, reportedly said the deal had been undertaken due to the reluctance of other stores to sell Santee milk.
