Three new products allowing consumers to mix fruit yoghurt with
crunchy, chocolate cereal are to be launched by Germany's Alois
Mueller group next month.

German dairy group Alois Mueller is to launch three new yoghurts in the autumn which will extend its popular range of Corners - yoghurts with a portion of fruit or cereals which can be added, or not, by the consumer.

The three Knusper yoghurts will be available in Germany from 1 October this year and consist of Orange Choco Crunch (an orange yoghurt with a separate portion of orange-flavoured, chocolate-coated crispy cereal pieces), Schoko Cringels (cherry-flavoured yoghurt with crunchy chocolate loops) and Caramel Choccies (a creamy vanilla yoghurt with chocolate-flavoured hazelnut caramel drops).

Alois Mueller said that the yoghurts were designed to be different from many of the yoghurts currently available, and not only because of the fact that they have the portion of cereal.

"These yoghurts are designed very much to tap into consumer desire for something a little bit sweet and perhaps a little bit naughty," the company said. "We are promoting them with the marketing tagline of 'You can crunch if you want, but you shouldn't', meaning that consumers can choose whether or not to simply eat the healthy yoghurt, or to be a little bit more daring and add the cereal as well."

The company said that the Knusper yoghurts could also be mixed and matched, allowing consumers to create their own flavours.

The yoghurts are available in 150g pots and will retail for €0.40 to €0.52 each.
