Norwegian firm aims to expand applications for its latest closure

One of Austria's leading dairies Tirol Milch has become the first food processor to specify the new Pure-Twist U Fresh cap from Elopak, the Norwegian packaging provider.

The innovative closure was introduced on Tirol Milch's premium fresh milk Alm Milch earlier this year. To the casual observer there will be no obvious difference in comparison to Elopak's premium cap Pure-Cap U, but the benefit of greater flexibility in application was clear to Tirol Milch, which felt that this would eventually improve productivity.

The Pure-Twist U Fresh is a post-applied cap with a wider application window. Its main advantage is that it can be applied to all types of cartons for fresh products. It has enabled Tirol Milch to replace more costly Alu cartons with PE cartons for Alm Milch and its winter milk Alpen Milch, Elopak claims.

For Elopak's global customer base the Pure-Twist U Fresh cap is proving to be an increasingly popular option for fresh products in PE cartons. The company says that the closure will now be applied to all cartons including EVOH and Alu, once it has been technically approved for all these qualities.

The new cap is a result of Elopak's ongoing research and development into more efficient and profitable closure solutions.
