Crown Cork & Seal has signed a technology licence agreement with Amcor, the leading beverage global can manufacturer.

The licence will allow Amcor to use Crown's proprietary can shaping technology for the shaping of beverage cans in different sizes in Australia and New Zealand.

Crown's shaping technology has been effectively used by Crown's customers to emphasise brand identity and to differentiate new products on the retail shelf. So far the technology has been successfully used in Europe and North America to develop new business for Crown and its customers.

Crown recently also announced a technology licence agreement with Amcor for the use of Crown's patented SuperEnd beverage end technology. This beverage end technology is said to offer performance and cost advantages.

"We are excited about the expanded market possibilities that these two new technologies bring to us and our customers in the highly competitive beverage marketplace," said Darryl Roberts, group general manager, Amcor Metal Packaging.

Crown Cork & Seal is a leading supplier of packaging products to consumer marketing companies around the world. World headquarters are located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
