Caspian Climatic, a UK based manufacturing company, has introduced Cool Cab, a refrigerating system specifically designed for racks and enclosures.
Developers at the company's Wiltshire base discovered that the problem with existing similar systems was that high external temperatures or thermal build up within the equipmentmeans fan driven ambient air-cooling is ineffective.
The solution that the company came up with to this problem: a refrigeration module is the answer. Caspian Climatic claims that the 'Cool-Cab' unit will cool sensitive & expensive equipment by refrigerating the air without the problem of condensate.
Currently the unit is available for most rack/enclosure sizes.
Caspian Climatic claims that by utilising thesystem, the savings on energy costs for companies could, potentially, more than justify the initial outlay for the installation of the system. Furthermore the system is also said to do away with the need for expensive air-conditioned rooms for servers andelectronics, because the solution can be applied directly to the racks and cabinets housingthe equipment.
Condensate self disposal, automatic cooling and and adjustable temperature controls are amongst the standard features included in the system.
