Finnish food and ingredients firm Raisio has recently announced the
sale of its Carlshamn Mejeri ice cream business to Sweden-based
Ahus Glass, which is currently part of Finland's Ingman Foods.

Finnish food and ingredients firm Raisio has recently announced the sale of its Carlshamn Mejeri ice cream business to Sweden-based Ahus Glass, which is currently part of Finland's Ingman Foods.

The Raisio Group , which is also involved in the paper chemicals and animal feed sectors, has sold the business as part of its move to redevelop its business structure.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the price of the planned transaction.

In a press statement Raisio said: "Selling the ice-cream business is part of Raisio Group strategy to release capital in order to develop core businesses. Through this deal Ingman Foods strengthens substantially its position in the Swedish ice-cream market."

The turnover of the ice-cream business was about EUR 15 million in 2001.
