UK dairy Yeo Valley Organic has received an award for its Fat Free Yoghurt range at The Vitality Show, held at London's Olympia last weekend.

The products, made from milk certified organic by the UK Soil Association, were voted the Best Health Food Range by readers of consumer magazine Here's Health.

The award is designed to select 'healthy, tasty foods that help you stick to a nutritious diet'. The awards, created to recognise companies that are making important contributions to healthier lifestyles, also include the Best Organic Retailer and Best Vegetarian Range.

All of the Yeo Valley yoghurts are 'Bio Live', containing live bifidus bacteria said to be important in helping to maintain a healthy body balance, and are made with organic milk, fruit, sugar and flavours. The Fat Free products do not contain any artificial sweeteners and have around 0.1 per cent fat content.

Michael Pollak, Yeo Valley Organic brand manager, said: "This award is an important endorsement for them and comes at a perfect time. There is a growing interest in healthy eating and we have experienced greatly increased interest in our fat free products."

He added that the company is responding to this strong consumer demand for the range by launching six new recipes in a choice of four new four packs.
