Dessert manufacturer Sara Lee has expanded its successful luxury
range - Sara Lee Gold - just four months after its initial launch.

Bakery and snacks giant Sara Lee has expanded its successful luxury range - Sara Lee Gold - just four months after its initial launch. The range of four gateaux complements the three cheesecakes initially introduced under the Sara Lee Gold brand.

"Frozen gateaux, worth £40.2 million, is the third largest sector within a growing total gateaux market worth approximately £280.5 million,"​ said Howard Gardiner, Sara Lee marketing manager. "With a 14 per cent share it is a product area synonymous with the Sara Lee brand."

Four variants have been introduced in the Sara Lee Gold Gateaux range, which are all packaged in distinctive Sara Lee Gold black boxes. Consumers can choose from Chocolate Gateau, Chocolate & Orange Gateau, Raspberry & Vanilla Gateau and Lemon & Almond Gateau.

"Early indications show that the launch of Sara Lee​ Gold Cheesecakes has been extremely successful and gives us a great platform for the launch of the new gateaux range, which offers the visual appeal and eating quality of chilled desserts at value for money prices,"​ said Gardiner.
