Germany-based packaging equipment provider LEMO Maschinenbau has
launched the CAPmat-Slider, a bag-maker that allows packagers to
reduce changeover downtime by up to 25 per cent.

The company says that the diversity of bag types that can be produced with CAPmat-Slider makes the new technology ideal for various bakery, frozen food, snack, pet food and household applications.

CAPmat-Slider's computerised, user-friendly interface and special conversion modules allow packagers and converters to reduce changeover downtime by up to a quarter when changing between the production of standard side weld bags and other bag formats.

In addition to special changeover modules that allow users to quickly and easily produce various bag types on a single machine, the new CAPmat-Slider bag maker also features efficient motorised parts.

The digital processing system simplifies production processes by providing simplified data storage for repeat orders. The machine's built in modem allows technicians to gain remote access to the machine.

"LEMO is proud to introduce a machine that combines excellent production flexibility with significantly reduced changeover downtime and user-friendly computerised interface," said Sabine Zanders, regional sales and marketing manager at LEMO.

Another important function of the new technology is that it makes it easier for complex production lines to incorporate Zip-Pak's QuickZip SLIDER zippers directly onto bags.

"Zip-Pak is committed to developing solutions that enhance packaging flexibility and quality," said Robert Hogan, director of sales and marketing at Zip-Pak.

"Through key partnerships with OEMs like LEMO, more brands around the world will be able to efficiently add the benefits of consumer preferred resealable packaging to their products."

Zip-Pak's QuickZip SLIDER is the first economical, high-performance slider for low-density polyethylene (LDPE) bags. It is designed to meet increasing consumer demand for the convenience of the value added resealable feature.

"We were eager to introduce our new machine with Zip-Pak technology because it combines the high quality resealability and cost-effectiveness that our customers demand," said Zanders.

"Also, with Zip-Pak's new European production facility in Winschoten, the Netherlands, European customers will be able to obtain the materials they need with great efficiency."

Zip-Pak is a global leader for resealable packaging technology with more than 200 patented zipper profiles.
