Wild launches natural fruit flavourings
manufacturers to get ahead of the trend towards healthier, natural
flavours with new products set to be unveiled at the ProSweets
confectionery trade fair in the new year.
According to the company, its new Tropical Juice Bears flavour range is designed to capitalise on consumer preference for natural flavourings.
Wild claims trends within confectionery reflect a need for 'guilt-free' products derived from natural ingredients.
The company said: "Confectioneries incorporating natural colours and flavours as well as a high fruit content satisfy the consumers' desire for high quality snacks and, therefore, have an added value as compared to conventional products."
Made from fruit juice concentrate, the flavours - for use in soft candies - consist of 10 per cent juice and are available in passion fruit, pomegranate and melon.
In addition, Wild will present Belly Friends, a line of tastes for jelly gums, hard or soft candies.
Also on display will be Ethnic Pralines, a number of chocolate confectionery items containing alcoholic or exotic fruit flavours and made from powders and natural flavouring ingredients.
Wild communications officer Helena Brandenburg told confectionerynews.com: "The "Ethnic Pralines" concept fits into the consumer trend for ethnic products by offering new flavours that have so far been rather unknown to European consumers - like pomegranate or chili for confectionery products.
"Additionally, the exotic flavors keep up the memory of the last holiday spent in exotic countries."
The ProSweets trade fair will run from 29 January - 1 February 2007 in Cologne, Germany.
