Indiana dry milk processor gets grade A certification
PacMoore, an Indiana-based manufacturer of dry milk products, has received grade A Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO) certification.

Grade A milk must be produced in a way that would make it sufficiently safe for consumption as a drink. Although there is also such a thing as grade B milk, also known as manufacturing grade milk, about 90 percent of milk products in the US are grade A quality.

Vice president of sales and marketing at PacMoore Chris Bekermeier told FoodNavigator-USA.com: “There are companies that can only really work with us if we have this certification, so it opens more doors for us and new market opportunities.”

The company claims that it is the only dry dairy milk powder handler in Indiana certified to process grade A dry dairy products.

The new certification adds to its British Retail Consortium standard, achieved under the Global Food Safety Initiative.

Bekermeier said that the company is already certified to produce kosher, gluten-free, organic and halal products, so “this new grade A certification adds an exciting new range of product options for customers.”
