Vitamin A and D milk tests win patents
Canadian firm SciMed Technologies Inc. has won patents in the US, Australia and New Zealand for testing kits that can accurately determine vitamin A and D levels in milk in two hours.
VitaKit A and VitaKit D are used by milk processors and food testing labs and are important because fortification with vitamin A and D is mandatory in many countries including the US.
Some methods can take up to ten days to deliver vitamin A and vitamin D levels.
“Using VitaKit A and VitaKit D milk processors now have the ability to accurately verify the levels of vitamins A and D in their products while continuing to provide the world with the absolute freshest and one of the most vastly consumed products – Milk,” said Dr Rajan Gupta, founder and president of SciMed Technologies.
