FSA warns dairy farmers about sourcing

The warning comes on the back of an ongoing investigation into illegal smuggling of milk into Northern Ireland.
FSA said the practice is illegal and could introduce contaminants and ultimately comprises the integrity of the milk supply.
Maria Jennings, director FSA in Northern Ireland, said: “Illegal milk movements threaten the safety and traceability of milk and milk products processed in Northern Ireland.
“Any information or evidence brought to the attention of the FSA or DARD will be fully investigated and where evidence of malpractice is found, enforcement action will be taken against those involved and affected milk and milk products will be removed from the food chain.”
