1. JOHN BRYANT, CEO, Kellogg
We kick off our gallery of 20 food & beverage CEOs (in no particular order) with Kellogg president and CEO John Bryant, who is also set to become chairman of the board on July 1.
Pathway to the top: Bryant, aged 48, was born in Brisbane, Australia, and began his illustrious career at A T Kearney before moving to a planning role at beers, wines and spirits distributor Lion Nathan Australia.
He joined Kellogg in 1998 in a senior financial planning role, and moved rapidly up the corporate ladder in finance, sales, marketing and general management roles including chief financial officer, President of North America, International and Chief Operating Officer before becoming CEO in January 2011.
Education: Bryant has a degree in commerce from the Australian National University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a chartered accountant.
