Franck Riboud, Danone
Franck Riboud stepped down as CEO of French dairy giant Danone on October 1 after more than 18 years at the helm.
When he succeeded his father, Antoine Riboud, as CEO and chairman in 1996, Danone consisted of nine business segments - fresh dairy products, waters, biscuits, sauces, pastas, cheese, ready meals, glass, and beer - and boasted sales of €12.8bn (US$16.8bn).
Now, after nearly two decades of divestment and investment, Danone consists of just four units - fresh dairy products, waters, baby nutrition, and medical nutrition - and generated revenue of €21.3bn (US$28bn) in 2013.
He remains chairman of the Danone board.
