Probi has strengthened its functional food offer after acquiring a licence for two probiotic strains for use in food applications, primarily dairy, from fellow Swedish biotech company Probac.

The strains licensed from Probac are based on research that shows their positive effects on the gastrointestinal tract and the immune system.

Verum range

They are currently used in Norrmejerier’s Verum range, which includes yogurt and soured milk.

The intellectual property rights for two additional patented strains, which will be used for future product development, are included in the agreement.
