At around $20m, the US adult squeezy fruit/veg snack market is pretty small, but the growth opportunity is significant for brands offering a fresher, more functional take on the category, predicts David Istier, founder of New York-based EnergyFruits.
“If you want to convert adults to this packaging format, you need to be have some functionality,” says Istier, who has secured shelf space for his gut-friendly organic fruit & veg pouches with prebiotic fiber next to refrigerated juices and fruit cups in 1,200 stores.
