The bone broth market is still in its infancy, with manufacturers and retailers alike still trying to work out how to merchandise it, but the right packaging can really help brands punch above their weight, says Bare Bones Broth Co, which markets its bone broth in a microwaveable spouted gusset pouch for easy pouring, appealing to consumers who want to drink it or cook with it.
“Wherever we are in the store, we want to be the most convenient bone broth on the market, whether you are cooking with it or drinking it. You can just heat it up and pour it into a mug if you want to drink it; there’s no mess,” says co-founder Kate Harvey.
“Nine out of 10 Americans buy a can or box of broth every week. If we can get a fraction of those people to trade up to a superior quality product, that’s huge.”
