At the 2013 IDF World Dairy Summit, held in Yokohama, Japan, the IDF chose Daejeon, South Korea, as the host of the annual event for October 2018. The event will be the 106th IDF annual gathering.
The IDF told DairyReporter the issue of North Korea was discussed by the IDF board some months ago, and will be discussed again later this year taking into account the most recent information.

Tensions are currently high in the region as the North Korean regime has said it will reveal a plan to fire four missiles close to the US territory of Guam by mid-August, following US President Donald Trump’s warning to North Korea of a response of ‘fire and fury’ should it threaten the US.
The UN recently imposed tighter sanctions on North Korea.
In 2016, at Rotterdam, the IDF and the FAO signed a document on sustainability in the dairy industry, which was called the Dairy Declaration of Rotterdam.
The 2017 summit, Making a Difference With Dairy, takes place in Belfast, Northern Ireland, from October 29 to November 3, 2017.
