Finnish dairy company Valio will launch its brand in the UK at Food Matters Live this year.

It will unveil its ‘Fresh Finnish Thinking’ portfolio, which will appear on supermarket shelves in 2018.

Following extensive testing of a range of products that have experienced success in other markets, Valio is also planning a marketing campaign for the introduction of: Valio Gefilus Kefir yoghurts; Valio Finnish spreadable butters and cheddar with ValSa; and Valio Master Butter Makers butter.

Insights and research

During the exhibition, Valio’s research manager, Dr Minja Miettinen, will present the latest insights on digestive health, while Valio consumer insight manager, Dr Kevin Deegan, leads two seminars focusing on the role of media in free–from and the novel use of social media in concept development.

Keegan will also present a Valio case study on communication of technology and join the panel discussion on neuro-marketing.

Dr Keegan is also one of the three panelists for the upcoming DairyReporter webinar, Dairy Innovation, How to bring the genuinely new to market, which will take place Wednesday, December 13, at 3pm UK time (10pm Eastern). You can register for the event here.

New products

Every year, Valio launches new products, including liquid ready-to-feed infant formulas, lactose free products and whey powders.

At the recent Anuga trade show in Cologne, Germany, the company launched new lactose-free and baby-food products, as well as introducing Mifu dairy-based meat alternative strips for flexitarians and vegetarians. The product has been available in Finland, but is now being introduced to other European markets.

Valio Eila lactose-free milk powder is produced in whole, semi-skimmed and skimmed milk varieties.  Valio Eila low lactose skimmed milk powder is also available.
