HRL Holdings Limited (HRL) has entered into an agreement with MilkTestNZ to provide analytical testing services to the New Zealand dairy industry.

The five-year agreement is a continuation and expansion of an existing deal between HRL’s recently acquired subsidiary Analytica Laboratories (Analytica) and MilkTestNZ.

It includes the choice for MilkTestNZ and HRL to explore new future opportunities in New Zealand and other geographies.

HRL acquired Analytica Laboratories for NZ$30m to enter the environmental and food/agriculture testing market late last year.

More than 97% of New Zealand dairy farm supplier samples are tested at MilkTestNZ.

Microbiology, composition, analytical and specialty tests are done in the laboratory on milk types including cow, goat, sheep, buffalo and deer.

During peak season MilkTestNZ process more than 25,000 samples per day.

In addition to standard tests required for farmer payment and milk quality purposes, MilkTestNZ provides testing to include milk products and residue testing.
