CCL Industries in talks to acquire Treofan America

CCL Industries has signed a binding agreement to acquire Treofan America and Trespaphan Mexico Holdings from M&C for approximately $255m with the deal expected to close in Q2, 2018.

Smurfit Kappa rejects International Paper buy-out

Smurfit Kappa has rejected a buy-out from International Paper Company (IP) because: ‘it fails to reflect the Group’s superior prospects as an independent business and represents a valuation multiple significantly below recent comparable transactions’.

The European Milk Board (EMB), responding to French President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement that the milk price will be determined by production costs, has released data from a study it commissioned to look at farmer’s costs to produce milk.
