Hochdorf Swiss Nutrition Ltd is increasing the production of baby food at its Sulgen plant in northeast Switzerland significantly over the next few years.

As this will create an increased demand for reliable and regular milk deliveries, Hochdorf Holding Ltd is acquiring a 56% majority interest in Thur Milch Ring AG.

Hochdorf Swiss Nutrition and Thur Milch Ring have worked together since 2003 and Hochdorf Holding Ltd has held a 17.65% stake in Thur Milch Ring for some time.

It now intends to acquire the majority shareholding, increasing its stake to 56.12%.

Thur Milch Ring is an independent public limited company based in Ermatingen in the Thurgau canton that also includes Sulgen.

It has taken on the role of a self-help organization for milk producers. Most of its shares are held today by milk producers and the company’s objective is to independently market milk as effectively as possible.

Thur Milch Ring annually markets around 40m kg of milk from 150 milk producers.

The transaction volume for the majority shareholding is less than CHF 100,000 ($100,000). The share acquisition is expected to be completed on January 15, 2019.
