The Vitamin Shoppe announced that it will be the first national retailer to carry Noosh Almond Protein Powder, the industry’s first protein powder derived from whole California-grown almonds.

Noosh Brands launched exclusively online in May 2018 with the protein world’s first almond-based protein powder. It’s a US startup founded by a mom that was looking for ‘convenience and great taste’ for her sons. From the beginning it’s been uniquely positioned as a snack company rather than a workout supplement.

Since then it has expanded its brand, which now includes Almond Protein Powder in Unflavored, Vanilla Bean and Chocolate, Almond Butter in Original, Coffee, Chocolate, Cupcake and Birthday Cake and Almond Oil in Original and Roasted Garlic.

Sarine Sahatjian, founder and CEO of NOOSH Brands, said, "We have made a significant investment in technology and food science to create the most concentrated and highest quality of California almond protein powder ever introduced on the market."

“Our products are manufactured in a facility with the highest standards: ideal for people with peanut, dairy, soy and corn allergies or other dietary restrictions, and are preservative-free. Our protein powders are easy to mix and do not have a bitter, off taste that is associated with most flavored and unflavored, plant-based products."

The protein powders are marketed as a healthy addition to beverages like smoothies and hot cocoa, as well as foods like breakfast oats, pasta sauces, vegetable purees, desserts and more.

One scoop of the powder contains 120 calories, 21g of protein, 8g of carbs, 3g of healthy fats, 20% of daily calcium needs and 10% of daily iron needs. The nutritional value is much more highly concentrated than a serving of raw almonds, which contains just 6g of protein.

The Vitamin Shoppe is the first and only national retailer to carry the Noosh Almond Protein powders, now available in store and on The Vitamin Shoppe website.

Dave Mock, chief merchandising officer at The Vitamin Shoppe, said, "When it comes to plant-based protein, Noosh is an incredibly unique brand that represents innovation in its truest form. Our customers are consistently looking for new products that will meet their dietary needs and we're confident Noosh Almond Protein will not only satisfy those needs but will be a product that the whole family will enjoy."
