UK dairy company invests in new £3.5m in plant
The Rochdale-based company’s investment has increased capacity and capability in terms of milk intake, processing, filling and storage. The 70,000 sq ft plant, which is now in use, will increase the amount of milk Lancashire Farm Dairies can process by 100%.
A spokesperson told DairyReporter Lancashire Farm Dairies has provided some internal opportunities to existing staff for progression along with new roles within senior management.
Lancashire Farm’s network of local farms will continue supplying the milk required by the plant.
Jack Morrison, brand manager at Lancashire Farm Dairies, said, “As we’ve continued to see increased demand of our products, we needed to invest in the infrastructure that will continue to deliver that volume and ensure positive growth, and this new plant will do exactly that.”
The company produces yogurt and sour cream for sale in supermarkets around the UK.
