Blackcurrant Ice Cream from Alder Tree
Brilliant Blackcurrant received a Golden Fork for East Anglia in 2020, and was also among the three-star products recognised by the Guild of Fine Foods. Back then, the judges said it was a ‘match made in heaven’, praising ‘the pairing of fresh, tart blackcurrants and luxuriously smooth and thick cream’. This year, blackcurrant has done it again, claiming a three-star award; raspberry meanwhile garnered two stars.
The ice cream is made by Alder Tree, a family business going back to 1981, when the producer’s parents moved to the Suffolk countryside to run a small holding.
