From boba ice cream to pumpkin spice yogurt: What’s new in dairy?

The ice cream maker says it wants to capture the excitement of the upcoming US presidential election in by launching a limited edition ice cream flavor, Churn Out the Vote. The flavor contains pretzel swirls, fudge chips and ripples of chocolate mousse in vanilla ice cream and is part of a wider campaign to activate young voters, the company said.
“Important issues that impact all Americans like abortion, climate change, gun violence, and freedom and democracy are all on the ballot, and it’s evident young voters and voters of color will decide the outcome of this election,” said the company. “That’s why it’s so important that this new energy is turned into action and that every eligible citizen turns into a voter.”
The ice cream is launched in partnership with Black Voters Matter, which aims to encourage black and minority Americans to exercise their vote.
The ice cream will be available as a limited edition pint at an MSRP of $5.99-6.49.
The Laughing Cow’s Everything Bagel Style wedges
Bel Brands USA has introduced its first ever limited edition range of The Laughing Cow snackable cheese wedges with Everything Bagel Style. The new flavor offers a savory combination of garlic, sesame and poppy seed flavors and addresses a growing consumer trend.
According to the company, the ‘everything bagel’ flavor category is growing 20 times faster than other cheese flavors; however, most products on the market are limited to the snacking sector in formats such as cracker, chip and pretzel.
The Laughing Cow Everything Bagel Style is available now through January 2025 at retailers nationwide including Walmart, Meijer, Target, Publix and more for $4.49.
Kung Fu Tea’s tie-up with Secret Creamery
Bubble tea chain Kung Fu Tea has collaborated with small-batch ice cream maker Secret Creamery to concoct boba ice cream.
Available in 6 flavors - Milk Tea, Taro Cookies & Cream, Thai Tea & Mochi Bits, Red Bean Coconut, Matcha Marshmallow, Rosehip Lemonade – the range will be available at select gourmet grocers and national chains starting August 25. Pre-orders can now also be made via Secret Creamery’s website for $9.99.
Chobani and La Colombe’s pumpkin spice feast
Ahead of the fall season, yogurt maker Chobani and coffee roaster La Colombe have introduced their 2024 pumpkin spice range.
It includes two new offerings – the Chobani Pumpkin Spice Greek Yogurt Drink and the Chobani Pumpkin Spice Barista Oatmilk. The former is an RTD drink that blends real pumpkin with seasonal spices and will retail at $1.99 for a 7oz single-serve drink. The latter is formulated for use in coffee and will retail at $4.49 in a 24oz format.
The rest of the range comprises Pumpkin Spice Greek Yogurt; Pumpkin Harvest Crisp Flip; Zero Sugar Pumpkin Spice; Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer; Pumpkin Spice Oatmilk Drink, and La Colombe Pumpkin Spice Draft Latte.
Snoop Dogg’s Dr. Bombay Ice Cream launches new flavors
At the one-year anniversary of launching its ice cream brand, hip hop artist and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg released two new flavors – Baked Blueberry Muffin and Peanut Butter Jelly Time.
Baked Blueberry Muffin leans on nostalgia and contains cinnamon sugar ice cream, crispy crunchy streusel and decadent blueberry jam swirls. Peanut Butter Jelly time delivers a twist on a classic flavor, featuring peanut butter ice cream combined with grape sherbet, sprinkled with peanut butter chips and swirled with grape jelly.
The new options join Strawberry Cream Dream and are now available at Walmart and local retailers.
