US supplier of applied protein sciences Proliant and Trega Foods, a
manufacturer of cheese and dairy-based ingredients, have announced
a joint venture for the production and marketing of whey protein
New Zealand firm A2 has said it has evidence of a possible link
between heart disease and the milk protein A1. Leading dairy
company Fonterra has however disputed the findings and claims there
is a need for further research.
British company Volac International is forming a joint venture
company with Dutch group D.O.C Kaas. The new business will use
cutting edge technology to process whey for the health food and
animal feed ingredients markets.
