Fonterra 2017 revenue up but profits fall 15%

Fonterra has announced its 2017 annual results, which show revenue up to NZ$19.2bn (US$14bn), but net profit after tax dropped by NZ$745m (US$542m), an 11% reduction.

Fonterra has published its first half results, with net profit after tax rising by 2%.

Fonterra ended the first half of its 2017 financial year with revenue up 5% to NZ9.2bn (US$6.5bn) on the same period last year, and net profit after tax up 2%.

National Farmers’ Union (NFU) Scotland is calling on all Scottish companies purchasing milk to immediately recognize the strength of current dairy markets and return Scotland’s dairy farmers to profitable production.
