Vepatec boxes up
launched and demonstrated by Partners in Packaging at the PPMA
Machinery Only Show.
A robotic concept from cartoning specialist Vepatec, of Germany, which is claimed will revolutionise the sector, is to be launched and demonstrated by Partners in Packaging (PIP) at the PPMA Machinery Only Show, to be held in Birmingham's NEC this September.
Vepatec also claims that its Multigrabber, which utilises proprietary servo drives, offers good flexibility and is capable of up to 50 pick and place cycles/minute. The robot's simple construction features a variety of product pick up devices and a 'self-teach' automatic memory that allows the head to be synchronised automatically to the co-ordinates of the product.
At the show the Multigrabber will be shown feeding cartons to Vepatec's KA 190HS servo-driven carton erector for die cut trays and cartons. The system utilises a new cantilevered style tuck and glue combination closing machine.
A leading chocolate manufacturer has already installed a second Vepatec's KA190S and the model will be shown as a separate module erecting specialist frame-wall cartons with solid board hinged lids. Vepatec is currently strong in the Belgian and German confectionery industry with a number of specialist carton designs.
Key features of the system include cantilevered hygienic design for cleaning and maintenance, together with simple and easy repeatable operator size changing.
