Superfos is telling dairy companies to get cubed, as the company
launches packaging it says saves palleting space when compared to
round rivals.

The strong pressure on prices are leading food processors and supermarkets to search for more efficient and productive ways to pack and distribute their products.

Products in SuperCube can be packed 30 per cent more efficiently on pallets compared to filled round containers, whether in storage and or during transportation, Superflosstated in a press release.

A standard pallet that holds 90 filled, round five litre containers will hold 120 SuperCube containers. If a customer handles one million five-litre containers in one year it corresponds to 2,800less pallets or about 40 full truck-loads that need to be handled, stored and transported, the company stated.

A protective collar ensures stability and protects the lid and contents during transportation.

The container and closure are built to handle and protect liquids. The handle is mounted diagonally on the package, attached to two corners. The handle allows users to tilt the packagesideways when pouring, allowing the liquid to issue from a corner with minimal spillage.

SuperCube also has a peel-off lid and a re-closure system. The lid closes through a two-clip function that makes the container liquid tight and hygienic.

While the package comes in a 200m by 200m size, it can also be made in various out square or rectangular dimensions to suit the brand maker's market.

Superfos is Europe's largest manufacturer of injection moulded plastic packaging. The company supplies packaging for food, non-food and pharmaceutical markets. Superfos is headquartered inDenmark and has 1,800 employees at 14 production facilities across Europe and one in the US.
