A UK bakery firm has been able to dramatically increase muffin
output thanks to a complete processing line developed by machinery
firm Turbo Systems.

Baking Solutions, who produce blueberry, chocolate chip and lemon flavoured muffins, has begun using a new injection unit and off line system to meet its contract with a supplier to over 300 shops.

The £100,000 (€149,180) muffin processing equipment has allowed the company, who supply the industry with branded, own label and third party bakery lines, to increase capacity without relying on numerous suppliers

The equipment consists of an eight-across injection system and a six-across mini monoblock depositor with an indexing conveyor.

When the muffins are removed from the oven, the baking trays are indexed and various flavours and sauces injected into the product.

Baking Solutions special projects manager Andy Bastable said: "The muffin line is now working up to its full capacity and its performance is excellent. It is very compact, therefore freeing up factory floor space, the throughputs are very high and the back up service and training have been a real bonus."

Turbo Systems supply the baking industry with a range of applications such as cutting units, coating and decorating nozzles as well as depositing equipment.
